Our Story
A God-Ordained Transition
In 2023, Pastors Chuck and Jennifer retired from pastoral ministry and entrusted the leadership of Higher Ground Worship Center to Pastors Matt and Misti. With prayerful hearts and a desire to follow the Lord's leading, Matt and Misti accepted the call to serve as the church's Senior Pastors.
From the beginning, their heart has been simple:
To see people encounter Jesus.
To see the Gospel proclaimed with boldness.
To see hearts awakened to the presence of God.
To see the Holy Spirit move in people's lives.
To see the hurting find hope, the lost find salvation, the sick receive prayer, and lives be transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.
Their desire is to see the people of Nampa and the surrounding communities come to know Jesus, grow in His Word, and become faithful disciples who carry His love wherever God sends them.
A New Beginning
After a season of prayer and seeking the Lord, God began placing a new vision and direction in the hearts of Pastors Matt and Misti for the next chapter of the church.
On July 3, 2024, Higher Ground Worship Center officially became Arise Christian Church.
The name Arise reflects the biblical call found in Isaiah 60:1:
"Arise, shine; for your light has come,
And the glory of the LORD has risen upon you."
Isaiah 60:1, NASB 1995
The name Arise represents our desire to respond to the call of God, to rise in faith, walk in the light of Christ, and make Him known in our generation.
This is not simply a change of name. It is a new chapter in the story God is writing, with Jesus Christ at the center.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
When you come to Arise Christian Church, come expecting to encounter Jesus.
Our worship is expressive, heartfelt, and centered on the Lord. We worship in spirit and truth, lifting our voices, raising our hands, clapping, singing, and responding freely to the presence of God. He is our audience, and Jesus is the One we have come to honor.
You can expect biblical preaching and teaching that points you to Jesus, strengthens your faith, and calls you to live according to the Word of God. We believe God's Word is our foundation and final authority, and we desire to faithfully teach the apostolic truth of Scripture.
You can expect prayer. We believe prayer is powerful because God is powerful. Whether you need salvation, healing, wisdom, encouragement, freedom, or simply a place to bring your heart before God, there is an opportunity to pray and seek Him.
You may experience the work and gifts of the Holy Spirit as we worship, pray, minister at the altar during times of prayer. We welcome the Holy Spirit and believe His gifts are active and available today. We also believe that Scripture gives us biblical "house rules" for how spiritual gifts are to be exercised within the Church. These gifts are to operate in love, humility, biblical order, discernment, accountability, and submission to Scripture, with the purpose of edifying the Body of Christ and glorifying Jesus. Whether during worship, ministry, or altar prayer, we do not seek spiritual manifestations for their own sake, but desire everything the Holy Spirit does among us to point people to Jesus and remain faithful to the Word of God.
Most of all, we want you to encounter Jesus.
Our prayer is that you would not simply attend a service, but that you would leave knowing more of His love, His truth, His presence, and His purpose for your life.
OUR HEART
At Arise Christian Church, we believe the Church is called to proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, worship God in spirit and truth, walk in the power and fruit of the Holy Spirit, and serve people with the love of Jesus.
We believe God still saves, heals, restores, delivers, transforms, and changes lives. We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit are active in the Church today and are to be exercised according to Scripture, in love, humility, order, and accountability.
We are committed to being a "no-walls" church, taking the Gospel beyond the four walls and into our community through prayer, evangelism, outreach, practical service, and opportunities to share the love of Christ.
